A 23-year-old man has been stabbed multiple times on Imperial Way in Croydon at about 23:53hrs.

A 23-year-old man has been stabbed multiple times on Imperial Way in Croydon at about 23:53hrs.

The incident happened on Sunday, 28 July.

The Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene.

Detectives are appealing for information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.

The Police said the man is left with life-threatening injuries after he was taken to a south London hospital by air ambulance

His next of kin have been informed and no arrest has been made so far.

Speaking on the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Lewis Collins of the South Area Command Unit, said: “A young man had been left in a critical condition after being stabbed repeatedly. We believe there were a number of people present who had been to a nearby social event, which then spilled out onto the street. We would like to hear from anyone who attended this event and saw what may have led up to the stabbing.

“We also want to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or saw anyone running from the scene. Anyone with information should not hesitate, pick up the phone and call the police, or you can call Crimestoppers where you do not have to give your name. A young has been left with life-threatening injuries and I am appealing to our community to help police find those who were responsible.”

Meanwhile, Amil Choudhury, 20, of Walterton Road, W9 was charged on Monday, 29 July with the murder of 20-year-old man and attempted murder.

He appeared in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 29th July over a fatal stabbing in South Hamstead.
