By Ehi Ekhator
Th embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki paid a visit to a former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in his private residence in Abeokuta on Monday.
The closed-door meeting was said to hold at Obasanjo’s penthouse located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.
Though the details of the meeting were not known, but sources said it concerned the recent crisis that hit the National Assembly.
The Senate President arrived at Obasanjo’s house in a black Toyota Land Cruiser around 5.30pm and emerged at 7.12pm.
It was gathered that the meeting was earlier scheduled for 4pm.
After the meeting, Saraki told journalists that he visited the former President to make up for his absence at the former inauguration of the Presidential Library held in 2017.
He said, “You know, I missed the official opening of the library and that is why I have decided to come and see the place and, honestly, it is beautiful.
“We are very proud of what he has done here.”
Saraki’s problem escalated after he defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party a few weeks ago.
His former political party has demanded that he resigned from his position since he rode to his current political hierarchy through the APC.
