WAEC Presented Attestation and Confirmations of Result to Buhari
The subject of President Muhammadu Buhari’s certificate may finally be over as the West African Examination Council (WAEC) issued an attestation and confirmation of result to the President.
Uyi Uwadiae who is the Registrar of the Examination Council presented the document to the President on Friday at the State House in Abuja.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina took to his twitter handle after the presentation to lambaste his principal’s critics.
IN 2015, the President had claimed that his certificate was with the military board, a statement that attracted nationwide discussion, particularly from the quarter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Reacting to the development, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, took to Twitter to fault those who have criticised his principal over his certificate.
“WAEC presents attestation certificate and confirmation of school cert result to President Buhari. What will the naysayers say next?” Adesina twitted.
The discussion was awoken lately after Buhari submitted his nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with the same claim that his certificate was still with the military board. However, he did submit an affidavit in its place.
The PDP had dragged Buhari to court to challenge his eligibility to contest the election in 2019 without a certificate.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu had accused the PDP of planting the seed of division among the people, describing the suit as a waste of time.
His argument was that his Principal has other higher qualifications which were obtained by hard work and truly merited.
The Publicity Secretary of the opposition, Kola Ologbodiyan, on the other hand, expressed concern on the sensitivity of the Presidency whenever the certificate issue is mentioned.
He said it was a confirmation that the Presidency is hiding something from Nigerians.
