Why his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disagreed with the ruling, the governor released a statement through his media aide, Simoen Nwakaudu.

The Panel publicly announced that the PDP could not convince the tribunal for the reliefs they sought.

A panel led by Mohammed Garba had dismissed the PDP and its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s case against Buhari.

Atiku had argued that he won Buhari with over a million votes in the last Presidential election.

The PDP candidate had also argued that Buhari does not have the requisite academic qualifications to hold office.

The entire petition was dismissed by Mohammed in his ruling, describing Buhari’s CV as impressive.

The petition was squashed in its entirety.

In his congratulatory message, the Rivers State Governor asked the President to use the victory to work for Nigerians “irrespective of their political leanings”

“Governor Wike called on the President to work towards the unity of the country, noting that the country is divided,” Nwakaudu said.

Wike was the coordinator of the PDP Presidential campaign in the South-south.
