Suspension Rocks Edo APC As Ojezua, Oshiomhole Get The Boot
It was a day of suspension in Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress onTuesday.
The crisis rocking the state APC took a different turn after the State Working committee passed a vote of no confidence on the state Chairman, Barr. Anslem Ojezua.
The event happened in the morning. Vanguard reports that Eleven out of the sixteen-member SWC voted against Ojezua during the exco’s meeting.
The SWC elected Col. David Imoise (Rtd) to oversee the affairs of the party pending the investigation of alleged mismanagement of the affairs of the party and anti-party activities.
18 Local Government Chairmen Suspends Oshiomhole
A few hours later, the news also broke that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Adams Oshiomhole has been suspended by the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Edo State.
The LGAs Chairman passed a vote of no confidence on Oshiomhole over his roles in the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party.
However, it was not clear as the report says the statement of Oshiomhole’s suspension was signed by the suspended Chairman Anselm Ojezua and Assistant State Secretary, Ikuenobe Antony.
“Consequent on the development, the State Executive Committee has adopted the vote of no confidence passed on him and the subsisting suspension order from the organs of the party in the state.
The chairmen said they took the decision to prevent a repeat of what happened in Zamfara State where the party could not field any candidate in
“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is the one behind the crisis in Edo APC. We have passed a vote of no confidence in him and he stands suspended from the party.
“We don’t want what happened in Zamfara State or other parts of the country to happen in Edo State.”
