PDP congratulates Sekibo, Nwogu, Others on Election Tribunal Victory
The Chairman, Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro. Felix Obuah expresses profound joy over the landmark rulings at the Election Tribunal yesterday and today, which gave victories to some of its noblest representatives in the National Assembly.
Leading the pack are Senator George Thompson Sekibo who is representing the Rivers East Senatorial District and Senator Olaka Nwogu, representing Rivers South East Senatorial District.
The PDP said it is also elated by the upholding of the election of members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State namely: Hon. Jerome Eke (Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency); Hon. (Mrs.) Blessing Nsiegbe (Port Harcourt 2); Hon. Ken Chikere (Port Harcourt 1); Hon. Kingsley Chinda (Obio Akpor); Hon. Gogo Bright Tamuno (Okrika/Ogu-Bolo) and Hon. Jacobson Nbina (Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo).
Others are Hon. Awaji Inombek Abiante (Opobo/Nkoro) Rt. Hon. Dum Dekor (Khana/Gokana) and Hon. Emerengwa Boniface Sunday (Ikwerre),
Bro Obuah said: “This historic ruling by the Tribunal is a plus for the judiciary and marks another victory for democracy. Our distinguished lawmakers would now refocus on the task of giving effective representation to the people.
“The ruling, once again showed that the victories of the PDP in the 2015 General Election were no flukes. It has vindicated our claim that the PDP is the party of the Rivers people.
“Our victorious lawmakers have clearly overcome the distractions following weeks of contention from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in an election which has been adjudged free, fair and credible.
Bro. Obuah added, “We congratulate the Distinguished Senators George Thompson Sekibo, Olaka Nwogu and all the Honorable members of the House of Representatives on their victories while urging Rivers people to remain calm, focused and prayerful as we await success in the remaining cases at the Tribunal, including the Governorship Election”.
