No More Rooms For Lawlessness, Edo Police, warns Obaseki, Oshiomhole’s supporters

Political actors who believe that inciting violence in Edo State will promote their interests would have to look elsewhere, going by the words of the Commissioner of Police, Lawan Jimeta.

His warnings come on the backdrop of the violating and protracted crisis exhibited by Loyalists to Governor Godwin Obaseki and his immediate Predecessor and Embattled National Chairman of the Ruling All Progressive Congress, APC ahead of the Gubernatorial election in the state.

COMPOL Lawan Jimeta who was in the company of other Sister Security Agencies in the state, says, Political Groups or interests must now toll the Line of peace or face stiff penalty henceforth if they continue to cause unrest in the state.

CP Jimeta explained that no nation thrives in crisis whether politically or economically while addressing newsmen, shortly, after the stakeholders meeting in Benin City, as part of measures implored to address the unending crisis rocking the Political Space in the State

According to him, ‘We as security personnel will make sure this ugly incident does not repeat itself, because it will scare away development in the state.

‘No more room for thuggery and lawlessness. The use of explosive is becoming worrisome. Political crisis does not guarantee political success. We are talking to you people as stakeholders so that you can talk to your people, ” he said.

He maintained that Security operatives will be all out for anybody that goes contrary to the law, no matter how highly placed the person may tend to be in the Society.

” We are warning mischief and trouble makers to either leave Edo State or turn a new leaf,” he quipped

He urged Political Groups and their teaming supporters to always think Edo State first in all their engagements.

Other relevant stakeholders present at the meeting where the DSS, Prisons, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian military, NSCDC and the Civil Society Collaborators.
