Lawmakers Who Booed Buhari Lack Parental Training – Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello
The Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Yahaya Bellow launched an attack on Senators who were involved in the booing of Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari during a 2019 budget presentation
While presenting the N8.8trn 2019 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja on Wednesday, the lawmaker picked offence and jeered him the moment he started listing his administration achievement.
Some of the achievement he listed, which didn’t go down well with the Senators and reps were: fighting corruption, weathering the storm, positively affected 36 states of the federation and more.
While the Senators and the Members of the House of Assembly shouted “Propaganda”, “Grass Cutter” – referring to the case of his axed Chief of Staff, the lawmakers on the platform of the All Progressives Congress praised sang the President, leading to a clash at the floor of the house.
Speaking in Abuja over the incident, Yahaya criticized those who booed Buhari, saying they lack proper parental training.
He said “First of all, two distinct human beings, a father, a gentleman, a man who has the interest of the country at heart, President Muhammadu Buhari, displayed his stuff (on Wednesday) and those who are self-centred, selfish and bent on destroying this country and democracy, have also shown themselves.
“This is what I said sometimes back that when you have a child that is not well-trained by his parents, he constitutes a menace to the society and that was exactly what was witnessed at the National Assembly.
“The National Assembly is supposed to be made up of men and women of character and integrity. We have seen those that constitute such class of human beings and those that constitute menace to the society in the National Assembly.
“But above all, I thank God; I thank Mr. President for a wonderful presentation of the 2019 budget estimates.
“We all believe it is going to take Nigeria to the next level by the special grace of God.”
Security details whisked Buhari away after the presentation as the rowdy lawmakers became uncontrollable to the point that the Speaker of the House, Hon Yakubu Dogara and Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki could not make
