I’m Not Aware Oshiomhole Is Fighting Obaseki, Says Ize-Iyamu
- We can’t settle with coup plotters, says Charles Airhiavbere
- Obaseki is the one fighting Oshiomhole, says Samson Osagie
- Oshiomhole went on his knees to beg for forgiveness, says Jefferson Uwoghiren
One of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu says Obaseki should focus on governance which he said: “has since been abandoned.”
Ize-Iyamu was reacting to the Appeal Court ordered of a stay of execution of the order of the FCT High Court suspending Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the party.
When asked the faith of Obaseki following President Muhammadu Buhari’s intervention, the former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who recently decamped to APC said “We thank God for the ruling. I am not aware that comrade is fighting the Governor rather it is the Governor fighting comrade.
“Now that the court has ruled in comrade’s favour, the Governor should be advised to give peace a chance and focus on governance which he has since abandoned.”
The Pastor also said “Ask Obaseki” when our correspondent asked if Obaseki and Oshiomhole will sit on a roundtable to iron out their rifts.
A chieftain of the PAC, Charles Airhiavbere told NAIJA CENTER that “I don’t understand your question. Do you settle with coup plotters who wanted your life”
A former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Samson Osagie said the interlocutory injunction was not supposed to be made, adding that it was a political tool.
He said “The Court of Appeal ruling staying execution of the order of interlocutory injunction against the National Chairman is a welcome Development and goes to show that the order wasn’t made on a shaky legal foundation.
“It ought not to have been made in the first place. Let I said before the interlocutory injunction was a political tool to undermine the cohesion within the APC and to fester the ambition of a few individuals.
“Thank God for the President, some Governors and court of appeal saw through these shenanigans and reason prevailed. The National Chairman now has a duty to mend the cracked walls and allayed the fears of those who came up in arms against the party”
On Oshiomhole’s rift with Obaseki, Hon. Osagie said “Oshiomhole does not fight with the Governor. Governor is the one fighting him and many party leaders and members.
“Oshiomhole will not compromise the party interest for the ambition of one man who has mismanaged his political capital. The Governor is the one running for elections, not Oshiomhole. The ball is in Obaseki’s court”
Oshiomhole Begged For Forgiveness and Support Obaseki’s Second Term
Contrary to views, a lawyer Jefferson Uwoghiren said the National Chairman went on his knees to beg for forgiveness after declaring support for Obaseki’s second term.
He said “Uwoghiren said “Its no victory. It is a simple legal requirement to protect the res. You can only talk about victory in the quote if the Court grant his application for an interlocutory injunction on Friday. Oshiomhole knelt in the villa yesterday to plead for forgiveness and support for Obaseki’s second term”
