Adams Oshiomhole Laments Police Position On Today’s Mega Rally
Speaking shortly after the rally, the National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, accused Security Agencies of playing a hard game by denying the factional members of hosting the rally at Garrick Memorial the purported venue.
While narrating his ordeal when he arrived at the airport, Comrade Oshiomhole said, the way to manage a crisis is to come together in a round table and attack the issues head-on.
In his words; “Apc had a successful rally. I am taller than I am now. We have harvested those who will make our party thick.
” The shame, however, is that those who are supposed to be responsible for security challenges are now creating security challenges.
“People on broad daylight burnt tyes because they know I was coming to the state.
“Every APC meeting now they send thugs to attack. They also attacked my house at 8. pm and the police were speaking from both sides of their mouths. By this singular act, they bring embarrassment to us a party.
“Let me send a message to Philip Shaibu that his propensity for violence will not take him anywhere. He is doing more harms to his principal”.
He maintained that the party will try and work out modalities to sustain and embrace the part of peace.
Earlier in his remarks, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu thanked the party leaders for the opportunity, given his sojourn at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and now returning to home, he claimed he built over time.
He appealed to members of the party to shun all forms of reproach and come together to strike a balance in building a veritable party that can accommodate all.
He said, “Let me thank all of you for coming “I want to extend the hand of peace to all aggrieved. We are not your enemies.we have come to be your brothers and friends. I beg all of you let peace reign”. Like I said before now I have come to add values.
Former deputy Governor Dr Pius Odubu alongside the Factional Chairman, David Imuse were on ground to receive the decampees from the Opposition party, the PDP.
Meanwhile, the Secretary to Government, Barr Osarodion Ogie disclosed to NAIJA CENTER why the government is against Ize-Iyamu’s rally.
Speaking with NCN correspondent on Friday afternoon, Ogie said the Pastor used a faction to join the party, adding that there are procedures.
“Why should the government allow somebody to use a faction to join a party? There are proper procedures for joining a party. There are rules and ethics of every group and association. Nobody can be bigger than those rules. A party should respect its own constitution and rules.” he said.
When informed that the former PDP governorship candidate personally invited the governor to the rally, the Secretary to the government said “The Governor is the leader of the party. He is not to be invited. He is the one that fixes the date after the subject has fulfilled other conditions like going to the ward and local government to inform them of intention to join the party. That is the procedure.”
