Breaking: Tony Anenih dies at 85
A former Chairman Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih has been reported to have passed away at the age of 85.
He was said to have died at a private hospital in Abuna on Sunday.
Though the family is yet to release an official statement, but a family source confirmed the development.
One of his son who identified himself as Ose Anenih confirmed the demise to NAIJA CENTER NEWS.
He said his father died of a brief illness.
The source said the children will issue a statement soon.
Anenih lost his eldest son, Eugene in May 2017 a few months after he lost his wife, Patricia.
The former BoT Chairman celebrated his 85th birthday in August 2018.
But the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State said the party would make its position known soon.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Government has expressed its condolence to the Family of the chief.
The State governor, Godwin Obaseki expressed sadness over the death of Anenih.
He described the late political leader as a man who contributed immensely to the growth and development of the state and Nigeria as a whole.
He said the fatherly advice of the former BoT will be missed.
