By Ehi Ekhator
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari are absent at the Presidential debate ongoing at Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
Atiku, however was at the hotel but decided not to join the debate due to the absent of the President, Mr Buhari.
The President quarter is however yet to explain the reason behind his absence.
Atiku took to his twitter handle to apologise to Nigerians and his co-debaters, explaining why he chose not to participate.
He challenged Buhari to a one on one debate.
“As a leader and former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, let me first apologise to all Nigerians, my fellow candidates and the moderator for the APC Presidential Candidate’s absence in this debate. His non-appearance is a slight on ALL of us and our democracy.
“Afterall, you cannot shave a man’s head in his absence. I do not believe in attacking a man who is NOT here to defend himself. “
