APC is a “cult”, says Imo State Publicity Secretary
There seem to be more people with lesser confidence in the All Progressives Congress in Imo State as the party Publicity Secretary, Mr Jones Onwuasoanya resigned his position on Tuesday.
Onwuasoanya accused the APC in his resignation letter of impunity, injustice and sharp practices.
The aggrieved Secretary said he resigned his position because the party is handpicking candidate instead of applying the recognized procedure to conduct primaries.
He described the APC as a “cult”, adding that despite accusation, the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole refused to openly deny the allegation of receiving over N20bn to handpick candidates in the last concluded primaries.
The statement read, “After a careful and sober review of events within our political party, especially, in the last two months, I have come to the conscientious conclusion that our party, which before now was touted as the beacon of integrity, democracy, and fairness, has dangerously veered off from its own Constitution, Philosophies and Ideological inspirations.”
“Our Party has ceased to, in my own considered opinion, be a political Party, but a cult, where some well-positioned members have formed themselves into a cabal of capons, with a dangerous end in mind for our dear country and its fledgeling democracy.”
Last week Tuesday, the Governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha also expressed lesser confidence in the All Progressives Congress when he said the APC has lost its integrity and purposeful bearing.
