Akpabio’s visit confirmed the speculation that the former governor had been making plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

This is coming at the time the ruling party, APC has lost many Senators, governors and other relevant members to the opposition.

Rumour has it that Akpabio is blackmailed to joining the APC as the party has a file on his atrocities when he was the governor of his state, Akwa Ibom.

His visit to the President was first disclosed on Twitter by the Presidential aide on New Media Bashir Ahmad who shared photos of Akpabio shaking the President.

Speaking before the President, Akpabio assured the President that 49 Senators are throwing their support behind him.

Quoting Akpabio “The PDP senate caucus reiterates its support to President Muhammadu Buhari and his quest to bring about a greater Nigeria

“Today in the Senate, 49 PDP senators have declared their support for President Muhammadu – Senator Godswill Akpabio”

NAIJ CENTER NEWS had reported today that the PDP believed that Akpabio was the greatest mole the party had had to deal with. To justify their claims, Ahmad disclosed that Akpabio has been a Buharist since 2015.

“Senator Godswill Akpabio has been a Buharist since 2015. Many haven’t seen it.” He said.
