Tinubu: Ambode Cries To President Muhammadu Buhari For Help
The Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode met with the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Thursday, News Agency of Nigeria reliably reports.
The meeting was reported to have taken place at the Presidential Villa.
Ambode is in crisis with his political godfather, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
The former Lagos Governor who is the All Progressives Congress National Leader has refused to support Ambode for his second term bid.
Political bigwig had intervened but yielded no result, but the meeting with Buhari is expected to bring a lasting solution to the vote of no confidence passed by Tinubu.
The Mandate group had endorsed Ambode political opponent within the same party, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
NAN reports that the Chairman of the Governor’s Forum, The Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha brought the problem to the President’s attention few minutes before Buhari met with Ambode.
The cause of the rift is unknown, however, Tinubu had a similar problem with the last governor of the state, Barr. Babatunde Fashola.
