Youths Chase Enogie of Ogan Out Of Palace in Edo

The Youths of Ogan Community in Orionmwon local government have chased their Enogie (Duke) from his palace.

The youths razed down the Enogie’s palace including six houses, plus vehicles.

The problem started after Enogie’s son brought soldiers to the community to intimidate the angry youths.

The soldiers reportedly shot one Agharuwa who died on the spot.

According to eyewitnesses, the youths demanded money realized from the burrow pit in the communities which led to one of the Enogie’s sons inviting the armed soldiers.

The soldiers reportedly shot sporadically and a stray bullet hit Agharuwa who died on the spot.

Another account of the incident, according to an eyewitness, was that the fight was between the two sons of the Enogie about borrow pit.

Speaking to journalists, HRH Igbinovia accused his eldest son of instigating the people against him in order to dethrone him.

“They have driven me away, it is only these clothing on my body that I have left. My son said I am old.”

However, the eldest son, Prince Daniel Igbinovia, denied the allegation, saying the soldiers his step brothers brought killed the boy.

“I never instigated anybody. I was in Brigade Command when the incident took place. I don’t believe in violence. I believe in peaceful resolution.”

Speaking on the issue, Edo sTate Police Spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor said the police has commenced investigation into the incident.

He warned the youths to stop taking laws into their hands.
