Two Months After Leaving Office, UNIBEN Ex-VC Finally Vacating Lodge

Two months after leaving office, the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. F. F. O Orumwense has finally vacated the VC lodge.

Orumwense’s refusal to vacate the accommodation meant for VCs had attracted reactions from many of his colleagues, many of whom preferred to stay anonymous.

His tenure ended in October 2019 which gave birth to his successor, Prof Mrs Lillian Salami.

On Thursday, 13th of February, NAIJA CENTER reported that An Edo group, Edo Patriot Peoples Assembly gave the former VC a 14-day ultimatum to vacate the premises or be ready to face public humiliation.

However, Prof Orumwense was still packing his belongings at about 10 pm on Sunday (yesterday) NAIJA CENTER has learnt.

At the time of filing this report, the current Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mrs Lilian Salami is living in temporary accommodation on the campus.
