Two Chinese Kidnapped In Edo
Unknown gunmen abducted two Chinese citizens and neutralized their police guard in Edo State, the police disclosed.
The Edo State police Commissioner, Danmallam Mohammed disclosed this on Friday.
This is the latest of such incidents targeting workers from China.
The abduction took place on Wednesday at the town of Utesi in the southern Edo State, south-south of Nigeria.
The officer said, “The Chinese were seized by unknown gunmen who had laid an ambush for them outside the premises of their company.”
“The police orderly attached to the Chinese was killed in the operation.”
The kidnapped duo were employees at a glass and aluminum firm.
The police said it has launched a manhunt for the kidnappers.
He said the police will inform the public as soon as more information is gathered.
