Two Children, Three Adults Dead As Obaseki Convoy Collided

Five people were confirmed dead on Saturday after the Edo State government convoy collided with another vehicle

The accident happened near Ehor Village along the Benin-Expoma Highway.

The victims were in an Audi 80 car – five adults and two children when it collided with a Toyota Hilux van carrying Godwin Obaseki’s protocol officers.

The governor and his entourage were on their way to a convocation in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

The Edo State Police Commissioner, Danmallam Mohammed confirmed the incident but refused to deled into the details.

However, the Edo State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said the two children died on their way to the hospital.

The Edo government did not lose any staff as the occupants of the HIlux van only sustained injuries.

The occupant of the Audi 80 weren’t so lucky as the three adults and two children died.

Oko said the driver of the car lost control in an attempt to avoid pothole.
