Politician Pays $15,000 in bitcoin To Free Kidnapped Daughter
One of the victims of abduction, Aishat Ardo, who was abducted in the capital city of Nigeria, Abuja has regained freedom.
NAIJA CENTER NEWS had reported that Aishat was kidnapped outside Blickers supermarket in Asokoro on Saturday.
On Sunday night, her abductors released her after her father, an Adamawa based politician paid $15,000 in bitcoin.
She was dropped off in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja, TheCable discloses.
At least five people were abducted in less than 24 hours on Saturday evening.
Two teenagers who were from Quran lectures in Wuse area and a lecturer with Base University, Abuja were among those abducted on Saturday evening.
However, the police only confirmed the abduction of two persons in the city.
According to the spokesman of FCT police command, Anjuguri Manzar, the police denied knowledge of increasing cases of abduction in the city.
“The FCT police command wishes to assure residents that the federal capital territory is safe and the police have reinvigorated its crime-fighting strategy to ensure the to ensure the protection of lives and property,” he said.
“Contrary to speculations about an upsurge in this crime, the command wishes to correct the notion and inform the public that the aforementioned were the only cases reported to the police and efforts are being intensified to arrest the suspects.
“The command wants to reaffirm its commitment to protecting lives and property by deploying pro-active security measures that would nip this crime in the bud.”
Though the police spokesman claimed the lecturer had also been rescued, there was no immediate claim.
