Ondo guber: PDP files appeal against tribunal ruling
…It’s a voyage of fantasy — Govt
AKURE — THE Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the governorship election in Ondo State Chief Olusola Oke, Thursday, filed an appeal against the judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal led by Justice Andovar Kaka’an which dismissed his petition
Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, candidate in the same election had also filed an appeal on 45 grounds.
The Special Adviser to Oke, Kunle Adebayo said in a statement in Akure that Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, and Patrick Ikweto, SAN, 23 lawyers on behalf of the candidate have filed a 32-page notice with 37 grounds of appeal.
But in a swift reaction, the state government through the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Eni Akinsola said: “We are not surprised at the voyage of fantasy embarked upon by the opposition in Ondo State.
“We are convinced that the facts distilled and adjudicated upon by the tribunal were clear and unambiguous.”
petitioners failed woefully to prove any illegal injection, which was obviously an after thought. At the end of it all, all they advanced were tissues of what the tribunal rightly called “primary and secondary hearsays.”
“Perhaps the person to direct the issue of injection at is the ACN candidate, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN whose name was not in the 2011 register but was in the 2012 register!
