Nigeria Soldiers Kill 39 Boko Haram Terrorists, Says Official
39 members of the Boko Haram terrorists were killed yesterday while many were of their equipment were captured, Nigeria official says.
The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) says about 20 soldiers were also wounded after Boko Haram attacked the troops.
The MNJTF is a coalition of soldiers from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger for the purpose of battling terrorism, particularly Boko Haram.
The incident was disclosed by the spokesman of the task force, Timothy Antigha who confirmed the battle in a statement on Wednesday.
Mr Antigha said the group were killed when they attacked troops at Cross Kaura on Tuesday.
Soldiers injured have been evacuated from the zone and currently receiving medical attention, he disclosed.
Since the formation of Boko Haram in 2009, the group has killed thousands and rendered many displaced in the North-east of Nigeria.
