Misau accuses IGP of buying 2 Jeeps for Buhari’s wife
Chairman of the Senate committee on Navy, Senator Isah Hamma Misau, (APC, Bauchi) has accused the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris of buying two Prado jeeps for the wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari.
Misau made the allegation when he appeared before the Senate ad-hoc committee probing his spat with police boss.
“The First Lady through her aide-de-camp (ADC) requested for a Toyota Hiace and Sienna. The same day that the ADC wrote; the IG minuted that she should be given two jeeps. And it is not part of the appropriation. If you look at the appropriation, there is nowhere they said the First Lady should be given two jeeps,” he said.
He also alleged that the IG manipulated his retirement date, by doctoring the Staff List of Senior Police Officers from 3rd January to 15th January, 2019.
Chairman of the ad-hoc Committee and Deputy Chief Whip, Francis Alimikhena said the IGP will appear before the panel next week.
