Man Arraigned For Raping A Goat In Ekiti State
Sunday Ogaji, 22, who allegedly raped a goat has been arraigned at an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court.
The Ekiti State Police Command charged the culprit with “unnatural offence.”
The counsel to the police, a Police Sergeant, Olubu Apata told the court that the incident happened on March 4 at about 14.30hrs at Basiri area.
Apata said the goat died on the spot after the rape.
Apata argued that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 214(2) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor requested the court adjourn the case to enable him to present his witness.
NAN reports that the defendant pleaded not guilty.
His counsel, Timi Omotosho, prayed the court to admit his client in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Kehinde Awosika, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until March 31 for hearing.
