The fun seekers who at the time of the attack, scattered for safety had been reassured by the Command’s spokesman, DSP Moses Nkombe, who confirmed the incident.
The PPRO assured that the situation had been brought under control and the attackers would soon be brought to book.
The command also reportedly assure the public that the park is safe and activities can continue.

Meanwhile, the Edo Forum of Patriot, INC has written to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris Kpotum to ensure that those responsible for the ugly attack be brought to book.
EFP condemned in strong term, the attack on the policemen and the abduction of Ehanire, describing it as depressing.
This was contained in a statement issued by the convener, Mr. Aiyamekhue Edokpolor
The statement reads:
We are dismayed and depressed by the gruesome murder, today 24th September 2017, of three police officer attached to the Ogba Zoological Garden and subsequent abduction of our brother Mr Andy Ehanire, the Managing Director of Ogba Zoological Garden in Benin City.
Edo Forum of Patriots (EFP) hereby condemn in strong term this ugly incident which has become very worrisome and seemingly intractable in our state.
While we mourn the three policemen who lost their lives in active service, we want to call on the law enforcement agencies particularly the Nigerian Police Force to swing into action and ensure the safe and timely rescue of our brother from these anti Edo elements who are obviously targeting our prominent sons and daughters.
The circumstances surrounding this abduction and brutal killing of the three policemen calls for introspection and complete realignment of our security apparatus in our state.
Our state has witnessed more than enough of this deadly act in recent time. We hope the Nigerian Police can timeously deploy their men and resources to safely bring back our son and put a stop to this deadly criminality to avoid a situation whereby our people may have to resort to self help.
It could be recalled that few months ago, abducted Ehanire raised an alarm over the encroachment of the Ogba zoo by some unknown rich elements which led to the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki initiating the move to recover the zoo properties.
