Kaduna: Appeal Court Sacks APC Lawmaker
- orders fresh election within 90 days.
A court of Appeal in Kaduna State has unseated the Majority leader of the House of Representatives, Honourable Alhassan Doguwa.
Doguwa was elected to represent Tudun Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency of Kano State.
He was declared the winner of the February 23, National Assembly election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Yusha’u Salisu went to the tribunal citing massive irregularities and over voting.
Doguwa was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

In its judgement, in a unanimous judgement, Justice Oludotun Adefope-Okojie of the Appellate Court questioned why the tribunal arrived at the conclusion that the PDP candidate failed to prove his case.
He set aside the judgement of the tribunal and nullified the election in the two local government.
He sacked the lawmaker, directing that the entire process was marred by irregularities.
Justice Okojie, therefore, ordered the INEC to conduct a fresh election in its entirety within 90 days.
