The former senator he will continue to defeat Adeyemi, describing him as his political wife.

He was reacting to the Appeal’s Court judgement that upheld the Election Tribunal’s ruling which ordered for re-election.

The Appeal Court ordered the fresh election on Friday.

However, Melaye insisted that he has never lost any election to Adeyemi, stressing that he would beat him for the third time coming.

Melaye contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and scored 85, 3955 votes against his main rival, Smart Adeyemi who vied on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) pulling 66,901 votes.

Adeyemi wasn’t pleased with the result, he then approached the tribunal which ruled in his favour.

Justice A. O Chijioke led a panel of three justices and unanimously accepted Adeyemi’s plea by ordering a fresh election.

Unsatisfied with the judgement, Melaye approached the Appeal Court.

Unluckily, On Friday, October 11, the Appellant Court upheld the judgement of the tribunal.

Reacting on a video he posted on his Facebook page said the fresh election will make it the third time he would defeat “his political wife”.

“I have said time and time again, and I am repeating it again that Smart Adeyemi is my political wife. I was in APC, I contested against him in PDP and I defeated him, I came to PDP he went to APC and I defeated him, that is two zero, we are going back for the third time, It will be a hat-trick and I will score the third goal,” he boasted.
