Gunmen kidnap two Syrians in Ondo State

On Thursday night, gunmen shot four men including a policeman while kidnapping a victim at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State.

It was gathered that two Syrians were those kidnapped in the operation, employees of Charvet Construction Company, an agency handling the university Senate building.

According to the information gathered, the gunmen drove into the campus in a Mercedes Benz car shooting sporadically, grabbed their Syrian victims in a Nissan Xterra SUV with registration No. KTU 705 AL, the car driver was sot on the leg.

The Syrians were not at the construction site at the time of the attack.

The gunmen in an attempt to escape the scene with their victims shot a policeman identified as Olajide and three others. They escaped with the Syrians Nissan which has now been recovered by the police.

Police Spokesman for the Command, Mr. Wole Ogodo confirmed the incident and added that the wounded were receiving treatment in different hospitals in the state.

Wole added that the kidnappers left their Mercedez Benz behind and escaped with their victims car, including three cell phones and N400,000.

He said that investigation that will lead to their rescue the victims is ongoing.
