Five die in Osun crash
No fewer than five persons lost their lives in a road crash which occurred along Osogbo-Gbongan road, Osogbo, on Monday.
It was gathered that the accident occurred when a blue colour Toyota Camry, which had a blowout, lost control and hit a motorcycle and commercial bus bearing passengers.
Three persons on the motorcycle died instantly while the driver of the car and a passenger in the commercial bus also died.
An unconfirmed number of people were also injured in the accident.
It was gathered that the car overshot the median, ran into the motorcycle and commercial bus going in the opposite direction after suddenly losing one of its front tyres.
An eyewitness, Dele Oladipupo, said, “The Toyota car was facing Ife route but it climbed the median when it lost its tyre and faced the opposite direction, running into an okada and a mini bus.”
Another eyewitness, Mr. Wale Wakajaiye, said, “The scene was gory. The Toyota car ran over the median and hit the passengers on the motorcycle. It ran into passersby too.”
