The aggrieved Edoseghe was placed on interdiction since the 28 October 2016 because of pending criminal charges against him and his colleague, Mr Noren Uwaifo.
The charge, it was gathered, was made by a former Secretary, Ms Vanessa Osaruese Osula, who was also charged for a crime of attempting to steal policy document from the complainant’s file cabinet in a charge no. MCK/157 C/2013.
The university management decided to withdraw charges against her, even after the prosecution had closed its case, then reinstated her later.
The Ekiadolor Magistrate Court discharged and acquitted Edoseghe and his colleague of all charges on the 14/03/2017.
According to the information, the embattled staff informed the University management through a letter dated 30/03/17 and a reminder on 22/05/2017 respectively on his victory and called for his reinstatement, which was declined.
The management informed him through its letter dated 13/7/17 that he won’t be reinstated because of a pending appeal against his favourable judgement.
It was gathered that the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Edo State Prof(Mrs) Yinka Omorogbe later withdrew the Notice of Appeal on the 18/10/17 which was also communicated to the University management through a letter dated 25/10/17, yet the UNIBEN remained adamant to comply with the court order.
It was gathered that Edoseghe later wrote a Pre-action notice, informing the University of his resolve to enforce his reinstatement through the National Industrial Court if they continued to refuse to reinstate him.
