The Edo South Senatorial Candidate of the Action Democratic Party, Dr Ese Owie eulogised the late Chief Tony Anenih and said his transition to Glory was a loss to the Nation.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Dr Owie expressed his personal sadness over the demise of Chief Anenih.
The statement reads in part: “Following the demise of Our Father, Leader and Mentor, I condole the Anenih family especially his amiable Wife Justice Mariam Anenih, the children and the Chief Mourner of the family, Tony Anenih
“My heartfelt condolences also go to the Edo State Government, his extended family and supporters.
“I pray that the Almighty, the Most Benevolent graciously grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
A Distinguished Public Servant and Master Strategist he will be remembered as a great leader who had an abiding immense Faith in the development of Nigeria.
“A devoted husband, a kind father, a devout Catholic, and a fine gentleman, his transition is, indeed, heart wrenching.
“Chief Anenih was a humanitarian per excellence, a peacemaker and a bridge builder, He will be sorely missed.
“I am nonetheless consoled by the fact that he lived a long and fruitful life.
“May he rest peacefully in the bosom of our Lord and may perpetual light shine upon his soul, Amen.”
