Buhari In Borno Over Travellers Massacre
President Muhammadu Buhari has visited Maiduguri, Borno State where following recent attacks by Boko Haram.
On Sunday night, over 30 people were killed by the terrorist group in Auno village about 25km away from Maiduguri.
The Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu conveyed the message to newsmen on Wednesday.
“12:45 pm. President Buhari, aboard the BBJ from Addis Ababa just landed in Maiduguri. He is paying a sympathy visit to the government and people of Borno following the recent horrific incident in which BH terrorists killed several travellers,” it read.
NAIJA CENTER reported that over 30 passengers were killed on Sunday. The Nigerian military locked the gate to the highway and the passengers decided to spend the night in Auno’s village.
Many passengers, mostly women and children were abducted while vehicles were set ablaze.
Boko Haram insurgents have stepped up in attacks in the north-east, mostly on soft targets.
