Another information emerged on Saturday about the murdered ex-Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.
Badeh along with his driver were murdered by unknown gunmen along Abuja-Keffi Road on Tuesday.
The ex-Chief met with the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha and the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari three weeks before his assassination, according to Punch reports.
The former Chief of Defence Staff met in Aso rock over his trial for corruption.
Badeh reportedly met with Aisha Buhari and Kyari to seek their intervention in the trial for alleged fraud, criminal breach of trust and money laundering which were reportedly taking an emotional and financial toll on him.
Punch News reports that an ally to the assassinated Chief disclosed that Aisha Buhari told Badeh that only the Chief of Staff (Kyari) could help him.S
The source, a former paramilitary officer, said. “Badeh stated that Aisha Buhari then took him to Kyari, but the COS was non-committal. He asked the ex-CDS to call him back, but he (Kyari) was unreachable since the meeting which took place about three weeks ago.”
Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission may continue to pursue Badeh’s properties despite his sudden death.
According to Punch News, quoting an official of the Commission, EFCC will not back down to pursue the ongoing trial to a reasonable conclusion and recover all illegally acquired properties.
