35-year-old Nigerian Dies Of Covid-19 In Lagos

A 36-year-old Nigerian has died of Coronavirus in a private facility in Lagos, the government announced on Sunday.

Honourable Commissioner for Health of Lagos State Prof Akin Abayomi made this known via twitter.

This made it the second Coronavirus death recorded in the state.

Abayomi tweeted “We lost a COVID-19 patient – a 36-year-old Nigerian male who died in a private facility on the 4th of April, 2020. (The) total number of #COVID-19 patients who have died are now two.

“A case was evacuated bringing total evacuated to two.

“Six new cases of #COVID-19 confirmed, bringing total confirmed cases to 115. A #COVID-19 patient was discharged on the 4th of April, 2020. The number of #COVID-19 patients, who have fully recovered and discharged is now 24.”

It could be recalled that the first Coronavirus-related death recorded in Lagos was a 55-year-old man died in Lagos University Teaching Hospital on Friday.

Nigeria has recorded a total of 214 confirmed cases of the Covid-19.

The federal government says it has put some measures in place to check the spread of the virus.
