The Kware Local Government Area of Sokoto State, on Friday suspended six teachers for one month for alleged laxity and absenteeism.
The Secretary of Education for the area, Alhaji Sada Haidara, announced the suspension during an unscheduled visit to some junior secondary and primary schools in the area.
Haidara said the affected teachers formed the habit of reporting to duty late and closing early.
“Those suspended include a teacher from Junior Secondary School, Morai, three from Shehu Malami Model Primary School, Morai and two from Sarkin Yamma Model Primary School, Kware’’, he said.
The education scribe expressed dismay over the attitude of the teachers and warned them to shun the negative tendencies.
“The local government education authority will sustain such unscheduled visits. We will no longer condone laxity to work,” Haidara warned. (NAN)
