Edo APC Crisis: Has Ize-Iyamu Added Values?
It is on record that no Society, thrives and make marginal differences in conflict.
The last time I checked, no theory from anywhere has proven otherwise.
For Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his Co-travellers, they have become wanderers in their own belief.
They say they are peacemakers of some sorts, but when they directly face you, they sting through their poisonous tail like a scorpion.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu, like a Babylonian pope, in his recent political party switching, told the waiting crowd in his restrained mega rally at his Abode, that, his decisions to ditch a party he robbed, (PDP), during the 2016 gubernatorial Election, he was out to add values.
He also noted that, he wasn’t desperate and seeking for power.
In a report credited to PM Newsonline, he debunked claims of faction in the state chapter of the APC.
He made a clarification on his decision to leave PDP, during an interactive session with journalists in Benin, at which he ‘officially informed them of his political movement.’
He noted that God could at times use someone neutral to “resolve the crisis”.
“Sometimes, God uses you in time of crisis to bring peace. So, I just decided that the crisis should not deter me. The important thing is that I’m not going to APC to escalate any problem.
“I’m going there by the grace of God to add value, I will go and settle the party, I will go and ensure that the party is well-connected to those at the grassroots, I will encourage governments to do their best, and that itself is one of the primary purposes of being in politics,” he said.
Commenting on the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party, Ize-Iyamu said the situation was not as bad as being portrayed.
He said: “I don’t really think that the faction is as deep as some of you think. Who are the two secretaries, who are the two publicity secretaries, who are the parallel chairmen in the different local government areas, and who is the national chairman in the other faction?
“So, you find out that it’s not as deep. You might find disagreements in some very few areas, but I’m telling you that if you really want to see factions, you will see parallel chairmen from ward level to the national.”
Few weeks on, the monumental switching gang star, and his foot soldiers have been frequently and frivolously piercing their Babylonian swords to tame and gag the state government, particularly the governor, Godwin Obaseki on available, internet space.
Every day, a new post is delivered on social media, hacking the same government that they initially claimed they have come to add values to.
These patterns of his have raised worrisome thoughts whether the man who claimed to add values is now reducing the values he came to meet and well established.
What are his missions? Has he lost it in the wild wind? Can this man be a double-edged ludicrous?
Recall that, the same man was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2016 governorship election in Edo State, and will be appearing for re-arraignment before Hon. Justice G. M. Umar on Thursday, February 13, 2020, over a N700 million election-related fraud case preferred against him and Four others by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The case file is at Court 1, Federal High Court Benin City. Ize-Iyamu and the four other accused persons were earlier arraigned in 2018 before Hon.
Justice P. I. Ajoku. Due to the transfer of the Judge the trail could go on.
The EFCC had filed charges against the accused persons bordering on illegal receipt of public funds for the purpose of 2015 general election, contrary to the provisions of the EFCC Act and the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.
A reliable source at the court, who pleaded not to be named, said Osagie Ize-Iyamu and the four others are to be re-arraigned on the 13th of February, 2020.
“The court case could not go on because the judge who handled the matter earlier was transferred. Now, a new judge, Hon. Justice M. G. Umar has taken over the case, which would come on the stated date.”
The EFCC accused the defendants of conspiring among themselves to commit the offence in March 2015, alleging that, they took possession and control of the funds without any contract awarded.
The EFCC also said, the defendants allegedly made huge cash payments of various amounts to several people without going through a financial institution.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu has a lot in his hands to contend with and must realize that he would have to stop those his aides who have continued to throw unreasonable dig on Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Is he really in APC at the time of division to bring peace or PDP lost interest in his candidacy?
Will he contest the 2020 governorship election or he returned home as he alleged without hidden agenda?
He must refrain his Assyrians and Mandaeans his Primary descendants, who have become of Semitic Stocks or Semitic Speakers.
His acclaimed huge Political frame must be used to usher peace, not pieces.
